Shane Balfour

Shane Balfour was born and raised in London, England where he started playing golf at

the age of 11. Shane studied as an Assistant Professional in England until 1975 when he

gained full membership status in the British PGA. In 1978 Shane played on the European

tour and the Safari tour in Africa.

In 1979 Shane decided to move to United States to pursue his career in golf. Shane was

hired by George Buzzini, Sr. in 1981 to work at Turlock Golf & Country Club as an

Assistant Golf Professional. In 1984 Shane was hired as Head Golf Professional when

Mr. Buzzini retired.

In 1996 Shane was hired as the Director of Golf at Diablo Grande Resort in Patterson,

California. The Director of Golf oversaw the entire golf operation until 2008.

Shane’s tremendous depth of golf knowledge allows him the versatility to teach recreational golfers, amateur players and tour players alike.

1988	Top contributor for National Golf Day, Northern CA by playing 17 ½ rounds in one day, raising $3,500 for Junior Golf
