Dana is a native of Modesto and began golfing at the age of 6. Golf became a part of her life through the encouragement of her family, father Ken, mother Connie, brothers Michael and Eric and sister Keri; all who have been involved with golf at its highest level. At the age of 7 she began to play in tournaments. Dana was a member of the Junior Golf Association of Northern California (JGANC), American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and the United States Golf Association (USGA). She enjoyed great success as a junior golfer which included being age group champion a number of years; which resulted in her selection to the America’s cup team 3 years in a row (1986-1988). Dana attended Grace M. Davis High School in Modesto, CA and competed on the boys’ high school golf team, as there were no girls golf teams in Northern California at that time. She again experienced great success as a player earning honors as a 1st team all-league selection 3 of her 4 years. Her amateur career continued as she won championships in 1986 as the California Women’s State Amateur Winner (Consolation Bracket), 1987 Girls Nor-Cal Champion, 1987 CIF State Girls runner-up and 1988 Girls National High School Champion. All of the hard work Dana put into her golf game resulted in a full-ride scholarship to the University of Southern California (USC, go Trojans!). While a member of the Trojan golf team, she was an All-Pac-10 selection in 1989 and 1990, 1989 Pac-10 Championship runner-up and was selected to the Pac-10 Al-Star team which toured all of Southeast Asia. In 1990 she placed 3rd at the NCAA Championship and was selected 1990 NCAA All-American. The All-American team included current LPGA players, Dina Ammacapanie, Pat Hurst, Brandie Burton and Kelly Robbins. Dana fulfilled a dream by turning professional in 1990 and began playing on the Players West Golf Tour and the Futures Golf Tour. She was a seven time winner on the Players West Golf Tour and in the year 2000 she qualified as a participant in the U.S. Women’s Open Championship. Dana juggles being a wife and mother and staying involved in golf by playing in occasional tournaments and coaching local high schools and Junior College teams. Dana Arnold-Ebster joins the teaching staff at McHenry Golf Center with the desire to give back to the game of golf as the game of golf has given her endless memories and a lifetime of enjoyment. Dana’s goal as a teacher is for people to enjoy the golfing experience and to have golf be a part of their lives.
